Gyeongju City and Thousand-Year Future Forum Host 'Sharing Love to Help Neighbors in Need' EventOn December 10, ahead of the year-end, Gyeongju City and the Thousand-Year Future Forum (Chairman Kim Eun-ho) held the 'Sharing Love to Help Neighbors in Need' event at the small plaza in front of Bunhwangsa Temple, engaging in warm sharing activities for the local underprivileged.The event brought together member companies and partner organizations of the Thousand-Year Future Forum to share warm hearts. A total of 39 million KRW in raised funds and donated items were delivered as coal briquettes and daily necessities to 200 low-income and vulnerable households in the Gyeongju region.In particular, the sight of members and volunteers visiting homes directly to carry coal briquettes in a relay fashion moved the hearts of local citizens visiting the site.In addition to this event, the Thousand-Year Future Forum plans to visit the Gyeongju Welfare Center for Persons with Disabilities in late December to provide free special meals for people with disabilities, as well as continue support activities for foreign and multicultural families.Despite the difficult economic situation, many local institutions and companies actively participated in sponsoring this event. Sponsoring companies included around 20 organizations: Korea Radioactive Waste Agency (KORAD), Wolseong Nuclear Power Site of KHNP, iM Bank Gyeongju Business Division, Dongjin Lee Gong Co., Ltd., Gyeongju Women's Forum, Gyeongju Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kyungbo Line Co., Ltd., Lee Sang Bok Gyeongju Bread Co., Ltd., Anheung Industrial Co., Ltd., SB Construction Co., Ltd., The K-Hotel Gyeongju, OBM Industrial Co., Ltd., Save Energy Co., Ltd., Deungppyeo Gamjatang Gyeongju Branch No. 1, Ulleung Cruise Tour Co., Ltd., Euroville Pension, Toham Hanwoo Chae, Mikyeong Traditional Food Culture Research Institute, KyungDong Navien Gyeongju Agency, Jeongil Resources, Korea Heavenly People's Church, Modern Advertising, and others.The Thousand-Year Future Forum originated from the 'Blue Economy Forum,' formed in 2007 mainly by local business owners and universities, and officially launched as a non-profit incorporated association in 2008. The initiative began at its founding when rice was accepted in lieu of congratulatory flower wreaths to share with the local community, which marks 17 years of steady sharing activities this year.To date, more than 3,000 households have received aid from the Thousand-Year Future Forum, with cumulative support reaching approximately 450 million KRW. Within the local community, it is highly regarded as a "model organization for public-private cooperation" and "Gyeongju's representative sharing and volunteer organization."In his remarks at the event, Chairman Kim Eun-ho stated, "I deeply thank our member companies for willingly joining the sponsorship despite the difficult economic conditions," adding, "We will continue to take the lead in community development and practicing the spirit of sharing."
